Judy Fuson

Internationally known author and pet communicator Judy Fuson will be a featured
guest at our second annual Steps for Pets walk on Sunday, September 19th at Sawyer Point.

Fuson is the popular author of Wagging Tails, Swishing Tails, Fluffy Tails and Other Tales.
She is a gifted psychic, teacher, author and horse trainer with more than 20 years experience in
“talking with animals.” She works with pet owners around the U.S. and abroad on behavior problems,
illness and unsoundness in dogs, cats, horses and other animals. She has a large following among
pet owners in Cincinnati, many of whom have attended her pet communication seminars locally, and
among horse trainers and thoroughbred owners in the Lexington, KY area.

At Steps for Pets Fuson will be available to do individual on-site readings, and the animal
does not need to be present for this purpose. In a reading, she can tell you what your pet thinks and
feels physically and emotionally, and can help identify and resolve certain behavioral issues. Donations
benefiting UCAN will be accepted for these readings.

SCOOP and UCAN

An organized effort by SCOOP (Save Cats and Obliterate Overpopulation) and several
other area rescue groups is currently underway and will soon stop a colony of almost
150 cats and kittens from growing even bigger. The cats are at a mobile home park in
Middletown and the park's manager contacted SCOOP for help.

On August 18th, twenty of the cats were transported in the UCAN van to the clinic where
they were spayed/neutered and vaccinated.  They were returned to the park the following
day.  Adoptable cats and kittens are being fostered and the others will continue to be fed by
park residents.  UCAN is providing special pricing for this project.

gcflogofullrgb200UCAN has just received a $12,000 grant from The Greater Cincinnati Foundation (GCF) to be used specifically for updating and expanding our operational technology.  These funds will enable us to become more efficient and cost-effective in both providing services and in fundraising.  We are tremendously grateful to GCF for its continued support of our mission.

The Greater Cincinnati Foundation believes in the power of philanthropy to change lives and empowers donors to make a profound difference in the quality of human and community life in eight counties of
Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana that comprise the Greater Cincinnati region. As a community foundation, GCF makes grants and provides leadership in six key areas: arts and culture, community and economic development, education, environment, health and human services.
